Story

Mohr

Aishwarya Lonial & Megh Banthia

Meet the Founders

Hey! We’re Aishwarya and Megh, the duo behind Mohr.

Our story began during Aishwarya’s graduation project, when she first discovered event design. While researching for her project, she instantly knew this was exactly what she wanted to do after graduation. She loved Indian weddings - the colours, the celebration, the joy but felt uneasy about the amount of waste they generated. Determined to change things, she jumped into the industry head-first after graduating, learning the ropes, mastering the craft, and exploring how good design could make weddings look amazing while being kind to the environment.

Megh initially started as a volunteer while juggling his IT job, helping Aishwarya behind the scenes. He quickly found he enjoyed connecting with people and helping make their big day special far more than his corporate life. Before long, he made the jump from IT to events, and Mohr became a team effort.

Why Mohr ?

The name carries an Indian touch, and literally means a seal of approval, a nod to the special moment when two people officially choose to be together. The tiger in our logo is inspired by Indian trial art and just like no two tiger stripes are identical, no two weddings should ever feel the same.

We deeply believe in supporting local artisans and traditional crafts. Whether it’s Banarasi weavers for table linens, Pichwai painters for stunning backdrops, or Kutch craftswomen creating thoughtful welcome gifts, every detail carries meaning. Even our décor often has a deeper story, like the time we handcrafted a backdrop using 7,200 scrap fabric flowers, strung together by an NGO supporting local women. We prioritise local sourcing, repurpose fresh flowers, and always choose nearby vendors to keep our footprint small.

Everything we do at Mohr wouldn’t be possible without the incredible people behind the scenes working tirelessly. From the labourers climbing ladders at midnight to fix décor, to the florists hand-weaving flowers overnight at the venue to keep everything perfectly fresh, and the electricians ensuring there’s uninterrupted power supply, we owe our success to their dedication and hard work.

It's all about emotions

Over the years, we’ve realised weddings had started to feel too much like a commercial industry, grand but impersonal. At Mohr, we’re determined to shift the focus back to real emotions, warmth, and personal connections. Couples have stayed in touch with us long after their weddings, calling us over for coffee whenever we’re in their city. Guests often reach out, asking us to create their future celebrations. That trust and connection means everything to us.

Because when the last guest leaves, we want couples to feel relaxed, happy, and grateful that Mohr made it all seem easy.
